About six days ago, price broke above the two past major highs (resistance at 14,600) and has now pulled back to that same point which is now support. Price is also now somewhat closer (but not that close) to the 20 ma – just what you’d want to see in a possible long entry. I will be getting in if a) price bounces off 14600 on better than average volume or b) price bounces off the 20 ma, with better than average volume and is also over 14,600. This first positive test of support is the most conservative entry on a long position. One could have entered on the breakout above 14,600, but would have had to stomach the inevitable pullback + risk that it could have been a false breakout and get in when everyone is shorting…ouch! A false breakout is still possible if price breaks below 14,600 – however not as likely as a continuation of the recent uptrend.
