Jak głosi legenda, wraz z szatanem i złem wszelkiem, wypędzał z zielonych łąk i pól gady, płazy i inne jadowite towarzystwo, będące utrapieniem mieszkającej tam społeczności. Patryka pierwszym biskupem, a później patronem Zielonej Wyspy.

Craobh Naomh Fiachra Luxembourg
Celebrating 25 years of traditional Irish music and dancing in Luxembourg
Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann Luxembourg, the Irish cultural, dance and music organization is celebrating in 2007 the 25th anniversary of its creation in Luxembourg by, amongst others, its first President Martin Joyce and by the person who more than most ensured its success in the early years, Phil Lane.
As part of its celebration Comhaltas are holding their annual Céilí Mór (Traditional Irish Dance) on Saturday 17th March 2007 in the Arquebusier Tennis Club, Val St Croix, Belair. This is the highlight of Comhaltas' annual calendar of events and the evening will consist of live music, step and Céilí dancing. The show will start at 18.30 with a children's Céilí followed by the main event at 20.00.
This is an evening not to be missed for anyone who wants to sample a genuine traditional Irish event on Ireland's National Day. Everyone is very welcome and as usual there will be great Craic (or fun)!
The main event of the evening will be the Ceílí Mór where the audience will be able to take part in traditional Irish folk dances which have been part and parcel of Irish culture over the years. Experienced dancers from Comhaltas will be leading all and sundry into jigs, reels and other dances under the expert guidance of Luxembourg's and indeed Ireland's very own set dance teacher Gerrie Paulus
Stars of the event will be the All Ireland Fleadh Ceol Trio Winners 2006: Danielle O'Riordan (banjo) Katie Lucey (fiddle/violin) and John Neville (accordion). All three have been playing Irish traditional music since early childhood and have won many competitions in their native Ireland.
They form part of the Listowel Céilí band. This 10 person Ceílí Band (fiddle/violin, banjo, mandolin, flute, keyboard and accordion) hails from Listowel, Co Kerry in Ireland. Listowel is a town steeped in Irish folklore and is next door to Tralee where the famous Rose of Tralee festival is held annually. It is also the home town of famous Irish writer John B. Keane, author of the play "The Field". A niece of Phil Lane, founder of Comhaltas in Luxembourg, plays with the band.
A step dance "Riverdance style" performance will be given by Comhaltas' own step dance group which has delighted audiences at village fairs and dinner dances throughout the Grand Duchy over the last 25 years. This group, led by step dance teacher Rita Neville, won great acclaim with its Celtic Coeur performance in 2004 as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the European School in Luxembourg.
Tickets prices for the Ceílí are: EUR 8 for members, EUR 5 for children and EUR 10 for guests.
Reservations by email at: Comhaltas_luxembourg@hotmail.com or by phoning 504421 after 19.00. To secure booking payment must be made to Comhaltas bank a/c:
